About Street Sisters Society

Street Sisters Society is a volunteer-run non-profit providing street-level outreach services by moving outside the walls of the agency to engage with people experiencing homelessness who may be disconnected and alienated from mainstream services and supports.

In a male-dominated homeless population, women’s basic needs are often overlooked. Basic items can be difficult if not impossible, for vulnerable women to access. Street Sisters Society focuses on bridging this gap by providing items like bras and undergarments along with food, water, warm clothing, harm reduction supplies and hygiene items. They are able to do this through the generous donations of the community and in collaboration with local businesses and charitable organizations.

Their team of volunteers visits areas where homelessness and sex trafficking is prevalent. They create connections and build relationships with vulnerable women while promoting health and safety. They distribute items specific to women's needs, focusing on encouraging and supporting them to get any help they need.
